Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to common questions about financial coaching and what to expect.

About Financial Coaching

Is this financial advice?

No. Financial coaching focuses on behavior, budgeting, habits, and goal-setting. I do not provide investment, legal, or tax advice.

How is financial coaching different from financial advising?

Financial advising typically focuses on investments and asset management.

Financial coaching focuses on day-to-day money decisions, habits, and clarity around cash flow. Coaching helps you build confidence and consistency with your money - not manage investments.

Is your coaching based on Dave Ramsey principles?

Yes. My coaching is grounded in the principles taught by Ramsey Solutions, with a focus on budgeting, debt elimination, and building strong financial habits. â€‹â€‹That said, coaching is always personal and adapted to your specific situation.

Fit & Readiness

Do I have to be in debt to work with you?

No. Coaching isn't only for people in debt.

Many clients come to coaching because they:

  • Feel stuck or unsure

  • Want structure and clarity

  • Want their money decisions to feel intentional

Coaching meets you where you are.

What if I already know what I "should" be doing?

That's very common. Most people don't struggle with knowledge - they struggle with consistency, confidence, and follow-through. Coaching helps turn good intentions into sustainable habits.

What if I feel embarrassed about my financial situation?

You're not alone - and you're not judged. Coaching is a judgment-free space designed to help you move forward, not revisit past mistakes. Shame doesn't create change; clarity and support do.

What if my partner isn't on board?

Some clients start coaching individually to see if it is a good fit for them and their partner, and their situation. Aside from 'testing the waters,' I will not coach individuals who are involved in a partnership where finances are tied together. It will take both of you committing to be successful.

Logistics

Do you work with individuals or couples?

Both. I work with individuals and couples at all stages of their financial journey.

How often do coaching sessions happen?

Session frequency varies based on your needs and goals. This is something we'll discuss together and adjust as needed.

Do you coach remotely?

Yes, although coaching can be done in-person if we live close to each other.

Boundaries & Expectations

Do you tell me what to do?

No. Coaching is collaborative. You won't be lectured or pressured. My role is to guide, support, and help you build clarity - not make decisions for you.

Is financial coaching the same as therapy?

No. Financial coaching focuses on money behaviors, habits, and decision-making. It's not therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment.

What if I'm not sure coaching is right for me?

That's exactly why the first call exists.

The Free Clarity Call is a low-pressure conversation where you can ask questions and decide whether coaching feels like a good fit.

Ready to take the next step?

Your first conversation is free, judgment-free, and pressure-free.
